Vintage Gibson ES-125T ¾ Scale Guitar Pays A Visit

These instruments were built between 1957 and 1970 and feature a maple top and back and mahogany sides and neck. There is one P90 pickup in the neck position, a trapeze-style tailpiece, a rosewood bridge, a volume knob, and a tone knob. It’s all very simple, yet 60-year-old instrument sounds amazing. We replaced the tuners, which were not original, with a set of Kluson tuners nearly identical to the originals. We leveled the frets, which had some extensive wear, and setup this guitar so that it played smooth and easy The owner inherited this guitar from his mom who played it in a band in the early 1960s. This is a wonderful example of how even entry-level guitars or built by skilled craftsmen back in the day.
