Matt is fat. Don’t shame him. Celebrate his chunky goodness with this vintage Telecaster-type six string burner.
Pedigree Parts by Nash
Fat Matt was built from parts donated by Bill Nash guitars. If you’re not familiar with Nash guitars, they build high-end vintage-spec instruments. That means Fat Matt has high-pedigree vintage-spec parts!
The vintage feel is most noticeable when you wrap your hands around Matt’s thick neck and strap-on his hefty-yet-balanced body. He’s a big boy! In fact, Matt got bumped from production at Nash because of his weight issue. (We even left the original Nash factory label, “Heavy,” on the body by the strap button. If you don’t like it, it’s just painter’s tape and should peel right off.) Matt’s got a big, thick neck, too, just like any classic Telecaster.
Lollar In The Neck
But Matt’s extra mass means extra lush tone! Equipped with a genuine Fender telecaster pickup in the bridge and a boutique Lollar pickup in the neck, Fat Matt sings! Lollar pickups are handmade in the USA and sound amazing. This pickup is stamped “2013” and it has aged beautifully. This pickup is so thick, warm, and buttery, you’ll want to dip lobster in it!
Ash & TV Yellow
Fat Matt’s two-piece ash body is finished in a vintage, semi-gloss “TV yellow,” the same butterscotch finish designed by Fender to be seen of early black-and-white television sets. The thick maple neck has a vintage yellow tint with a non-sticky gloss finish and Grover tuners taken from a 1980s Gibson Invader. “Fat Matt” is laser-engraved on the headstock. Engraved on the back of the headstock is, “Fat Matt by IYG, Sept 2021, No. 1 of 1.” Fat Matt is one of a kind!
Fat Matt also comes with a cool retro tweed hardshell case. With Fat Matt by your side, you’re ready to tour the world.
